REGULATION OF THE TIBETAN BRIDGE OF SELLANO
(Approved with municipal council resolution no. 84 of 11/29/2023)
RULES AND NORMS OF BEHAVIOR
PREMISE
The Tibetan Bridge of the Municipality of Sellano in the Province of Perugia, also below for brevity
“bridge” and/or “system” is an impressive engineering work that connects by air
the town of Sellano (altitude: 640 m above sea level) with the hamlet of Montesanto (altitude: 743 m
above sea level), crossing the Vigi river valley.
The travel length of the single-span work - from station to station - is 517.5
meters, the minimum height from the ground is 175 meters. The number of steps in space (steps
walkable) is 1,023.
The positive difference in altitude between the departure station of Sellano and the arrival station of Montesanto is 68
meters. This characteristic of travel with a positive difference in altitude makes it the first and
currently the only Tibetan bridge in the world among those known to have this peculiarity, which makes
its journey is even more exciting and exclusive.
The use of the facility is subject to a fee. Rates can be consulted on the official tourist website.
Before accessing the Tibetan Bridge the user must fully understand the
this Regulation, in order to enjoy the experience correctly informed and safely
towards the behaviors to adopt and the safety rules to follow, to protect your own
safety and that of others. Possession of the entrance ticket implies mutual acceptance
of this Regulation in its entirety.
It should be considered that the Sellano Tibetan bridge is an acrobatic aerial route, usable in
safety through specific aids provided exclusively by the management organisation. A
experiential path that allows you to enjoy a spectacular and unique point of view.
The system must be approached correctly, exclusively with the appropriate equipment
provided by the organization, scrupulously adhering to the rules defined herein
Regulation.
The Tibetan bridge has daily opening hours that vary according to the season,
can be consulted directly on the official tourist website of Sellano.
GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT AND SAFETY
Access to the Sellano Tibetan Bridge is prohibited in the event of ongoing pathologies, particular health problems or situations of unsuitability of the person
A suspension bridge can be classified among attractions with a high emotional impact and can significantly impact the psycho-physical state of a healthy individual. From this it can be seen how an individual in a precarious and/or inadequate state of psycho-physical health or in a body weakened by an ongoing pathology may prove to be too important and inadequate a commitment. However, under no circumstances should it be taken lightly and should therefore be avoided.
Given what has just been said, there are cases in which the use of the Tibetan bridge is prohibited by regulation, since, as mentioned, it is an aerial attraction with a high psycho-physical impact.
The purchase of an entrance ticket involves the signing of a contract with specific general conditions of sale, rules and prohibitions. It must therefore be assumed that, once the ticket has been purchased, the general rules of the facility and the consequent restrictions have been carefully read and accepted.
In compliance with the general regulations, read and accepted during the purchase phase, if you have nevertheless purchased the entry ticket and one of the restrictions listed below is applicable to you, you are aware that a contractual violation of the rules is being committed system general. This, in full and lucid awareness of one's intellectual abilities and responsibilities, one assumes full responsibility for one's actions, indemnifying the Municipality of Sellano (Perugia, Italy) from any liability.
Access to the Sellano Tibetan Bridge is strictly prohibited in the following cases:
- in case of full-blown cardiac and cardiovascular pathologies in which strong emotions or significant psycho-physical commitment are medically inadvisable;
- in case of problems with dizziness, balance and fear of emptiness which can generate a panic attack, or in those who suffer from it in a full-blown way;
- in case of pregnancy (since it is mandatory to wear a safety harness which could cause excessive compression of the waistline and lower abdomen);
- in the event that you have recently undergone any surgical operation that has debilitated your personal psycho-physical state;
- if you are suffering from: Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, senile dementia, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy / AMD, chronic or acute respiratory failure and/or you are wearing breathing aids such as oxygen therapy (e.g. Stroller, oxygen cylinder);
- in presence of any motor pathology that could compromise the stability of the gait, and therefore personal safety. It must be taken into account that the floor of the bridge has a discontinuous tread, that is, between one step and the next there is empty space;
- in case of state of inebriation, asthenia, hyper euphoria-excitation induced by: narcotic substances, medicines, alcohol or in case of full-blown personality disorder pathologies;
- in presence of any other pathology or debilitating personal psychophysical situation, not listed here, which may compromise one's own safety and that of others;
- if you are less than 130 cm tall;
- if you have a baby in tow, even if transported in a special backpack;
- in the event that the measurements of the thigh and waist are outside the indicated vestments and do not allow wearing the technical harness provided;
- if you show up with an animal in tow, even if transported in a special backpack;
- in the event that a minor presents himself at the gates in the absence of his parent (delegation to third parties is not accepted);
- in the case of clothing or footwear deemed unsuitable;
For what is listed above, the trained technical staff present at the facility has the full right to decide to prevent access to a person if they are not deemed suitable to ride the attraction. Under no circumstances will refund requests be accepted for the matters listed above.
★ access to the bridge is allowed to all people over 130 cm in height
cm. This rule is constrained by the length of the anchor lounge on the lifeline
safety. However, a child or person less than 130cm tall might
be suitable for technical assistance even if they are slightly smaller in stature.
We suggest not purchasing the ticket in advance and asking the operators at the bridge to
carry out this technical verification-measurement on the person; if suitable, only subsequently
purchase the entrance ticket online or on site.
★ access to the Tibetan bridge with infants in tow is prohibited, not even if transported by
parents in backpack or baby carrier. The Regulation prohibits it for safety reasons.
★ access to the Tibetan bridge is prohibited for people with a waist size greater than
120cm. and/or that of the thigh greater than 66 cm. This is the maximum size limit
permitted by the safety harness. We recommend that you check these carefully
parameters BEFORE purchasing the entrance ticket.
★ access to the Tibetan bridge with unsuitable footwear, such as slippers, is prohibited
beach shoes, flip flops, espadrilles, clogs and clogs of any kind, shoes with rubber soles
leather, with heel (even low) or with wedge. In general, access by anyone is prohibited
shoe without laces and/or without heel support.
★ Suitable and therefore permitted footwear is: closed type footwear, with lace and/or with
heel support buckle and must necessarily have a non-slip rubber sole. There
footwear must guarantee maximum stability and adherence to the step. Ideal and highly recommended
they are those for gymnastics and/or trekking. It should also be kept in mind that the path of
the return is a dirt-cobbled road. The service staff has full authority to prevent entry
to the user who does not show up with shoes suitable for the purpose.
★ the accompaniment of a parent is mandatory for any minor user
having the minimum height requirement. In the event that the minor is not accompanied by a
parent, access to the facility will not be permitted. You can't even show up in
presence of a guarantor adult, be it a relative and/or friend.
★ access to the bridge with accompanying animals of any breed or size is prohibited. If yes
presents with an animal in tow, the animal and the owner will be denied access and
the animal cannot remain unattended on site.
★ the use of your own safety equipment on the bridge is prohibited. Each user is required to
wear and use only the equipment provided by the service staff at the
bridge, after having carried out the regular check-in at the entrance turnstiles. The equipment of
security is provided and is included in the cost of the entrance ticket.
★ it is necessary to have a good state of mental and physical health to be able to access the bridge.
★ access to the bridge is strongly discouraged for people with serious heart problems
so as not to allow individuals affected by to experience emotions that have an impact on their health
epileptic seizures, who suffer from dizziness or in pregnant women.
Customers who do not comply with this regulation may be turned away and those
caught committing serious violations may be reported to the Judicial Authority.
Any refund request for the careless purchase of an entrance ticket will not be entertained
into account. The ticket purchased is not refundable, except in specific cases that can be assessed
relating to decisions by the Organization to close the facility.
IT IS ESSENTIAL
★ Present yourself at the entrance turnstiles with a digital and/or paper ticket, valid for the day and
time slot chosen during the purchase phase.
★ Carry out dressing with safety aids in the presence of the personnel in charge;
★ Listen to the instructions (briefing) from the personnel in charge before using the bridge;
★ Take care - before starting to cross the bridge - about fixing all the objects
furniture that could potentially fall, such as: glasses, mobile phones, appliances
videos/photographs, car keys, coins etc. In this regard it is mandatory to carry with you
a zippered shoulder backpack to store all your items.
★ In case of difficulty or accident, promptly call the personnel in charge;
★ Have clothing suitable for the season and non-slip shoes with rubber soles.
IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN
★ Use the equipment differently from that indicated by the personnel in charge; to
example, hanging from the lifeline, putting the safety lounge in forced traction.
★ intentionally throwing any type of object while crossing the bridge.
Individuals caught committing serious violations will be reported to the Judicial Authority.
★ standing on the bridge and causing gatherings, preventing or slowing down the normal influx;
★ swing the bridge with movements not necessary for normal progression;
★ reverse the direction of travel;
★ shouting or engaging in any inappropriate behavior that could annoy other people
or harm one's own safety and/or that of others;
★ smoking along the entire length of the bridge and along all return routes;
★ the use of drones throughout the municipal area of Sellano. According to current provisions

CROSSING THE TIBETAN BRIDGE
Before starting the experience of traveling suspended in the void, the trained staff will provide instructions
on the behavioral rules and you will be insured on the appropriate lifeline through a special
latest generation carabiner, which once connected can only be released at
the exit of the bridge.
During the entire journey, which lasts an average of 30/45 minutes (one way), there will be no
necessity nor possibility of detaching from the safety line, thus ensuring continuity of
anchoring.
The bridge is crossed in single file without the possibility of overtaking the people in front of us,
maintaining a minimum distance of 2 meters between individuals. If you are part of a group or
of a family, it is necessary to present themselves together and united during the entrance to the bridge.
EXIT, WAY OF REENTRY AND RETURN OF SAFETY AIDS
At the Montesanto exit station, after passing through the exit turnstile
people counter, the service staff will recover the safety devices. A path in
forest with a length of about 2 km and an average duration of 1 hour and a half, allows you to return
towards the starting point in the town of Sellano, not before having enjoyed a dutiful visit to the
small but ancient and suggestive hamlet of Montesanto.
PSYCHOPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOURNEY
★ It is necessary to be in good psychophysical shape;
★ do not have heart conditions that prevent you from experiencing strong emotions.
★ for women, do not be pregnant, due to the obligation to wear a technical harness.
★ not having consumed alcohol or substances that could compromise the psychophysical state.
★ not having taken psychoactive substances and medicines that limit personal clarity.
DIGITAL CHECK-IN AT THE BRIDGE
The entrance to the Tibetan bridge is completely automated. The user who booked online, or
those who have the entry ticket on site will be able to access the bridge via a
latest generation entrance turnstile equipped with a scanner capable of reading the
QR code on the ticket, enable access there and count the people entering/exiting.
At the entrance turnstile, keep the entrance ticket containing the code ready
square (QR code). To access you can use your smartphone with the screen at maximum
light intensity by entering the code under the turnstile laser reader. Print and keep with you
also a paper copy of the ticket, as a precaution. Each ticket allows access to one

TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL FALLING OF OBJECTS
Before starting to cross the Tibetan bridge it is necessary to remove everything from
pockets (if without a zip and/or button) or unstable worn objects that potentially e
may fall inadvertently. Any object falling from this height can cause injury
seriously or be potentially lethal for people who, for any reason, are
find themselves passing under the bridge. Items such as: glasses, car keys, wallet,
smartphones, coins etc. must necessarily be placed in backpacks, shoulder bags, kept in
pockets with closure or must be equipped with safety laces.
INTENTIONAL THROWING OF OBJECTS IS PROHIBITED
During the entire journey of the bridge, and extended to the return path, it is strictly prohibited
throwing any object such as: stones, coins etc. Any offenders or behaviors
harmful to the safety of others will be promptly reported to the Judicial Authority.
PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING ELECTRONIC DEVICES
During the entire journey across the bridge the use of smartphones, cameras and
video cameras (action cams) must be done with the utmost care and skill, to avoid the
their fall. Where possible, secure the devices to the wrist using the appropriate straps
safety devices and handle them with extreme care, avoiding distractions as much as possible
their fall.
THE USE OF DRONES IS PROHIBITED THROUGHOUT THE MUNICIPAL TERRITORY
Throughout the entire area of the Tibetan bridge, understood as: the entrance area, the bridge in its entirety
route, including the return path and extended to the entire area of the Municipality of Sellano
The use of drones is strictly prohibited. According to the provisions of ENAC national legislation.
Television crews, journalists, bloggers and interested parties can submit a written request
to the organization, subject to authorization from the municipal administration.
USE OF MULTIMEDIA MATERIAL FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES
The use of self-produced photographic and/or video material at the Tibetan bridge and throughout the
municipal territory may NOT be used in any way or for any purpose
commercial third parties, unless previously authorized by the Municipality of Sellano. Ditto to

ASSISTANCE AND ASSISTANCE DURING THE JOURNEY
